The Charlottesville Babe Ruth League offers boys and girls the opportunity to have fun learning the game of baseball from dedicated coaches and volunteers. The League accepts registrations from boys and girls who will be twelve (12) years old before May 1, 2023, and who will not be seventeen (17) years old before May 1, 2024 for the 13-15-Year-Old Division and boys and girls who will be sixteen (16) years old before May 1, 2024, and who will not be nineteen (19) years old before May 1, 2024, for the 16-18-Year-Old Division. Email the league if interested in playing in the 16-18 Division but won’t be 16 before May 1, 2024.

Babe Ruth League, Inc. allows for players who are 12 years old to participate in Babe Ruth League play as a "swing" player.  Players who are aging out of Little League who are "league age" 13 by Little League Rules, but who are "league age" 12 by Babe Ruth rules are eligible to play in the Charlottesville Babe Ruth League and should register and play with us. Please contact the league with any questions.

For those players who are planning to play Middle or High School JV and Varsity baseball, our spring schedule will accommodate you. Many Middle and High School JV programs end in early May, and Varsity ends at the end of May, and our season continues through the first week in June (13-15) and through the second week in June for the older division. From there, we'll have summer All-Stars so players wishing to have a longer baseball experience should plan to play with us in addition to school teams. Our rules are designed so that player positions will not interfere with school teams. Please contact us if you want further clarification.  

·       Each team will be assigned 1 practice and 1 game per week.

·       Practices begin March 11^th

·       Games begin April 13^th

·       End of Season tournament -- June 1^st – June 4^th

·       Players will have access to weekly community practices and 2 games per week.

·       Player evaluations will be held on May 20th

·       Practices begin May 25th

·       Games begin May 20th

·       End of Season tournament -- June 14^th – June 17th

* Games and practices will take place at Gardner Field at Lane Park for the 13-16-Year-Old Division

* Some Interleague Games may be held at Cove Creek, Greene, Greenwood, & Madison for the 13-16-Year-Old Division

* Other game locations and interleague play is possible for the 16-18 division; locations may vary.

* Each team will be assigned 1 practice and 1 game per week.

*   Each family will be assigned two (2) games in the Concessions stand or comparable duties during the season.

*   Additional volunteer duties are also required, or families may opt-out of this requirement with a $50 donation to the league. More information about the nature of the duties and how to sign up will be communicated closer to the start of the season. Families may not opt-out of Concessions/Comparable duties.

To ensure adequate playing time and attention for all of our players, we limit the size of each team. It is always our wish to accommodate all who want to play. Should our division become full, there is still a good chance we will have room eventually. We have had spots open up during most seasons, so please proceed with signing up on our waitlist to reserve your potential slot.
