The Charlottesville Babe Ruth League is kicking off the 1st annual fundraiser raffle this week. The purpose of the fundraiser is to raise money to support the installation of a new scoreboard, fund scholarships, and purchase much-needed equipment.
Those who purchase tickets can win the following prizes: 1st Prize: $500 VISA Gift Card 2nd Prize: $150 Amazon Gift Card 3rd – 5th Place Prize: $50 Dick’s Gift Certificate
Ticket pricing is as follows: 1 ticket for $10, 5 tickets for $40, 10 tickets for $60 Sales Incentives

Due to COVID protocols,the occupancy of Gardner Field has been limited to 50 persons.Only players, coaches, and approved volunteers will be allowed inside the park while games are in progress.People who have been assigned Gatekeeping duties are permitted to stay and watch the game from inside the park.In addition, we have three other volunteer positions to fill per game, and individuals who are willing to serve in these capacities are invited to stay.Scoreboard operators can keep score from the Press Box, and we need Safety Monitors (one per team) to help coaches keep players appropriately distanced during times when they are not playing in the outfield or batting. We will manage volunteer duties using SignUp Genius.Here is a link to the sign-up for those who wish to volunteer their time. Volunteers are reminded that the bleachers will not be in use so those who stay are encouraged to bring their own chair.
For instances when we have to postpone games or close fields, please refer to our hotline: 434-878-0712.The hotline will be the first method we update in case of schedule changes.We will also do our best to post updates to the home page of our website and our Facebook page. We have extremely dedicated and hard-working coaches who go to extra lengths to make sure the field is safe and playable for each game and practice.The League will err on the side of getting games and practices in.There may be circumstances where teams report to the field but are unable to play.Experience has taught us that canceling early can be problematic, so we err on the side of optimism. Coaches are in control of the practice schedule and may be able to work in some drills and conditioning even if it may be cold or wet. For practices, the league will not always close fields, and your coach will be in touch with you in case they are able to make alternative arrangements. For practices, your coach will make the final call if he needs to cancel and will let you know the status of your practice.
Great news for our field and for our world. CBRL is offering recycling receptacles for your aluminum cans and plastic bottles. There is a can crusher on the side of the concessions stand nearest to the bathrooms. Please crush your can and place it in the receptacle and our league will make sure it is recycled. You may also put your plastic bottles there. Spread the word, and thank you!

The division is currently full and taking a waitlist. It is always our goal to accommodate everyone, but we can only do so if you register on time (preferably early) so we can work on recruiting players and coaches, and locate fields for all to practice and play. **Even though we are currently full,you still should sign up if you want to play. We have time between now and our first games to recruit more players to form additional teams. Players will be added to teams in the order of the waitlist, so register now!
