The Charlottesville Babe Ruth League offers boys and girls the opportunity to have fun learning the game of baseball from dedicated coaches and volunteers. The League accepts registrations for the 13-15-Year-Old Division from boys and girls who will be thirteen (13) years old before May 1, 2023, and who will not be seventeen (17) years old before May 1, 2023, and for the 16-18-Year-Old Division, boys and girls who will be sixteen (16) years old before May 1, 2023 and who will not be nineteen (19) years old before May 1, 2023.

Attention families coming to us from Little League:the calculation for league-age in Little League is different from Babe Ruth League rules. We are aware of the age gap for players who are Little League age 13 but are league-age 12, according to Babe Ruth League. For players that fall in this category, we encourage you to register and play with our league. Babe Ruth League, Inc. allows for players who are 12 years old to participate in Babe Ruth League play as a "swing" player.Please contact the league with any questions.

ALL LEAGUE EVENTS, PRACTICES, AND GAMES are at Gardner Field at Lane Park unless otherwise specified.

There is limited space available in our 13-15-Year-Old and 16-18-Year-Old Divisions,so register early! If you choose a payment method other than credit card, payment may be made by mail or by special arrangement if necessary; however, registration is not complete until we receive your payment (*see other payment options below.). If the division does not fill up earlier, the Registration deadline is August 27^th for the 13-15-Year-Old Division and for the 16-18-Year-Old Division. (If paying by mail, then payment must be postmarked
by August 27^th.)

Season Highlights

Player evaluations are August 27th (TIME TBA)
Practices Start Week of August 29th
Teams will practice once per week
7-Week Season with Games Starting After Labor Day (at Gardner Field)
Season ends by October 30th with League Playoffs

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Coordinator Needed:
The CBRL board is lookingfor someone who would like to be the "Volunteer Coordinator" for the league. Being the Volunteer Coordinator will check all the boxes for volunteer responsibilities (including concessions duty) for your family. The League could possibly have two Volunteer Coordinators - one for each division.

The League will work closely with the person who takes this role for as long as is needed.

Sample Duties for the Volunteer Coordinator's include:

Make concessions assignments at the beginning of the season and when playoff dates are announced. We use SignUp Genius for this - it's very easy.
Introduce yourself to the Team Leads and put them in touch with each other.
Train any new Team Lead on how the concession stand works.
Help the League document supplemental tasks completed each season for each registered family.

The Team Leads are responsible for ensuring the family assigned to run concessions shows up for that assignment - that is not the Volunteer Coordinator's responsibility. However, the Volunteer Coordinator will help ensure that slots are fully assigned and will work with teams to help find replacements when schedule conflicts arise.

Social Media Help Wanted:
Do you have a special interest in or talent with Social Media? The Charlottesville Babe Ruth Leauge is seeking to expand our social media presence to include Twitter and Instagram, in addition to Facebook. If you would like to help the league with this endeavor, please email Alice Riccabona. Volunteer work of this nature will satisfy your supplemental volunteer tasks for the year!

Do any of these items belong to you or your child? If yes, please make arrangements to come to the field and pick them up. We are currently holding the items in the concessions stand.
